
Saturday March 3, 2012 from 9 am till 4 pm for the Final Five Qualification followed by the Final Five Program at 5pm on the same date for Ages 10 through Adult.
The top 5 scores will compete on March 3rd from 5pm till conclusion for the Title of St. Johns Got Talent Grand Winner
1) Eligibility Requirements: The contest is open to legal residents of St. Johns County Florida who are 10 years of age or older as of March 3, 2012 and who are not professional performers with a current performance contract. CONTESTANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED TO THE AUDITIONS BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. Employees, temporary employees, independent contractors and interns of the St Johns Got Talent ("Sponsor"), ., their subsidiaries, affiliates, other contest sponsors, and their advertising and promotional agencies, and such employees' immediate family and household members, and the contest judges' immediate family and household members, are not eligible to enter. The term "immediate family members" includes spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. Contest judges may include music industry professionals such as a voice coach and talent agent. Contestants who have a current or past professional relationship with such judges will be deemed ineligible.
2) An entry fee of $10.00 per person with a maximum of $40.00 for a group act MUST accompany each form. No entries will be accepted without the entry fee. Checks may be made payable to the Alan Kelso Campaign. Any returned check for insufficient funds will be charged a $35 dollar fee.
3) All contestants, despite age, will perform and compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Title.
4) Professional entertainers are not eligible for competition.
5) Any act that exceeds the three minute performance time limit will de disqualified.
6) All contestants will meet and must remain in the holding area during the performance. Except during the intermission period.
7) The contest is a “raw talent” contest. There is no set-up of instruments except what the contestant is able to carry onto the stage area from the holding area. Any contestant who makes it to the Final Five may at that time use any sound track they may need for the purpose of singing or dance. Instrumentalist may use the Piano, drums or amp for electric guitar that will be provided.
8) There will be a panel of judges and their decision will be final. No Judges Score Sheet will be available to any contestants following the contest. .Comment sheets will be available. The judges will narrow the contestant field down to the Final Five who will compete for the Title of St Johns Got Talent Winner with the Final Program beginning at 5 pm.
9) Judging is based on Appearance-5 points, Stage Presentation-15 points, Audience Appeal-5 points, Ability-25 points.
10) Final Program Episode: The five finalists selected by the judges will proceed to the final round. The five finalists will perform in the final Program on March 3rd at 5pm or as near to that time as possible. The audience in attendance during the Final Five Program will select the winner by use of their cellular phone via text messaging using a “Short Code” to be announced and assigned to each contestant at the time of the Final Five performance. Tallies will be made immediately following the Final Five contestant and announced with prizes awarded at that time.
11) Negotiations are taking place for the winners to be in several parades in St. Johns County during 2012 such as the Independence Day & Christmas Parades. Talent show directors should be informed the day of the show if contestants will not be able to represent the St. Johns Got Talent Foundation at future events within the county. Additional opportunities may be provided to the Winners to represent St Johns Got Talent during 2012. Should the promoters of the parades not permit the participation of the St Johns Got Talent in the Parades the Foundation Contestants release the Sponsor (St Johns Got Talent), Alan Kelso, their affiliates, subsidiaries, other contest sponsors, their advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their directors, officers, employees and agents, and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest, from any and all liability from injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this contest or acceptance or use of any prize or lack of participation in the parades.
General Terms: By entering the contest you agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Entry constitutes permission to use the contestant's biographical information, name, picture, likeness, recorded performance, voice and photographs and/or motion pictures of the contestant for purposes of trade, publicity and promotion for no additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). It is understood that the contestants' performances and/or participation in auditions and the Program may be recorded and broadcast as part of the Program and/or promotional materials therefore and contestants consent to the same. Contestants who participate in the Program production will be required at Sponsor's direction to participate in taping of promotional segments for the Program and/or Sponsor's advertisers or promotional partners. Any Contestant or person associated with any Contestant found to be in the possession of or under the influence of alcohol or any illegal drug, in possession of drug paraphernalia or firearms and the use of profanity on Sponsor's premises or other contest venues, will result in the Contestant's immediate disqualification from the competition and forfeiture of any title awarded. The failure of any Contestant or person associated with the Contestant to follow any and all instructions of Sponsor personnel in regards to the any aspect of the contest or Contestant's performance on St Johns Got Talent may, in Sponsor's sole discretion, result in the Contestant's disqualification from the competition. Contestants release Sponsor, Alan Kelso., their affiliates, subsidiaries, other contest sponsors, their advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their directors, officers, employees and agents, and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest, from any and all liability from injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this contest or acceptance or use of any prize. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Conduct of auditions and production of the Program will be solely within Sponsor's discretion. All decisions of Sponsor and the contest judges concerning the contest will be final and binding in all respects.
